About Elaine Plybon

I am the Coordinator for The Infinity Project at Southern Methodist University. Prior to my current role, I was a high school science teacher. During the course of my teaching career, I taught Biology, Chemistry, GMO (geology, meteorology, oceanography), IPC (integrated Physics and Chemistry), and TAKS prep. I really enjoyed some aspects of teaching and really didn't enjoy others.

In my personal life, I am mother to five children (a blended family) and wife to a wonderful man. I am currently attempting to finish writing a book (I have several started, none finished), and I also plan to return to school next year to get an executive MBA. My life is a blend of devotion to my children, my husband, my work, and my dreams. Good thing I'm a multitasker, huh? *grin*

I am also heavily involved with the Discovery Educator Network. I serve as blog coordinator for the Texas Leadership Council and as a member of the DEN in Second Life(TM) world. I enjoy the work I do with Discovery, as I find that it allows the ideation side of me to fly!
